Better to Give

Jesus said,  "It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
He recently put a family into our lives who frequently demonstrate this truth.

They asked us to share an afternoon together in which we could bring nothing but our self.  So, off we went to their little place.

The trees still had plenty of color left clinging to their chilly branches, but the evidence of Fall was certainly piling up on the lawn.

Rick and Mike raked a few thousand leaves together in a pile for burning and I gathered some twigs that no longer stuck fast the the trees....

... so we could have some dinner!

The cool air, the roasted hotdogs, the homemade buns, and Christian fellowship melded into a gift that was a blessing to receive.

Michael was talented to cook more than one dog at a time.  :)

The kitties shared some warmth near the fire and watched us make s'mores.
Sherri even thought to have white chocolate for me so I could enjoy one.

Now it's our turn to prove the truth of Jesus' words!

  1. This sounds like a relaxing and special time with friends! Autumn is my favorite season of the year--I love the crunchy leaves on the ground, s'mores, and the crisp, fresh tang in the air!
