Last weekend we were blessed by attending a conference that included
preaching, beautiful music, small group prayer sessions, lots of fellowship,
encouragement, simple meals, and lots of laughter...
all in two packed days.
The Family Encouragement Weekend was begun by three fathers a
few years ago who have a passion to lead godly families,
and a desire to be a source of blessing to other families.
Grandparents, newborns, and all ages in between attended the conference,
both to listen, and to help encourage other families.
The music, a chalk talk from Genesis, and
praying together, all brought us into a clearer focus
on our Savior.
It was a particular encouragement for me to see all the children,
no matter their ages.
Many of them blessed us with God-honoring music,
hugs, and words of encouragement.
We also enjoyed reuniting with two families
we had not seen for 12 years.
A mother of 10 encouraged us women from the Word- particularly to rest
in the Lord, even when things don't go as planned.
Even the young ladies took time to share words of encouragement.
I found the name tag we each wore helpful in remembering names,
but I think I just could have addressed most people as 'Barnabas'!
“When he (Barnabas) came and had seen the grace of God,
he was glad, and encouraged them all
that with purpose of heart
they should continue with the Lord.”
