Final Goodbye

Dad, a Marine, was given a fitting military grave side honor
that included a 21 gun salute, taps, and folding of the flag he defended.

Thank a veteran today.
Call or hug your dad today.

Saying goodbye is never easy, but we thank you
for all your prayers for us in the past few days.

  1. What a lovely photo, if you can put lovely on a photo like this. Such mixed emotion here. Your photo portrays love and respect, sadness and yet such color. This brings water to my eyes for you and your family. Mike, prayers for you and Sharon too. Such a hard thing to have to do. Death is so real, yet so is life, knowing Christ. You will see him again although a heart of emptiness here on this earth will remain, for the hole that will be left. Yes, such a reminder to hold onto those here on this earth giving love as long as we have them. Prayers and love sent your way.

    1. Thank you Don. We are so grateful he is with Jesus! This was Michael's Dad- and that story alone is really amazing. I'll try to send it to you via email.

  3. Mike and his dad looked much alike. What a blessing that they had those years to share with each other. Beautiful photography, Sharon! I never get tired of seeing Veterans honored with the flag draped over their coffin. He is home with Jesus!

    1. It was my first to experience the military ceremony; it was very moving and appropriate. We are grateful for God's grace!
